I have been on a reading frenzy lately. I believe this is due to the snow, the rain, and overall grayness of my world these past few months. Dayl, Pam, Terry and I all enjoy sharing books and new authors with each other. Here are some authors I find simply delightful.
Diana Gabaldon - http://voyagesoftheartemis.blogspot.com/
The Outlander Series, The Lord John series
Jasper Ffjorde - http://www.jasperfforde.com/
The Thursday Next novels
Charlaine Harris - http://www.charlaineharris.com/
The Sookie Stackhouse novels
Sara Donati - http://rosinalippi.com/weblog/
The Into The Wilderness series
Jennifer Roberson http://www.cheysuli.com/author/Index.html
The Historicals
And my most favorite author as a child/teen who helped inspire the kennel name 'Dune'.
Frank Herbert - http://frankherbert.org/
As far as dogs go, Hunter, Ellyn, Phantom and Beatrys will be going to the Canada shows the next two weekends. Dayl and I are so excited to finally be getting back to Canada!

diana gabaldon is my all time favorite writer... I read her last one in a day when we had a power outage and there was nothing to do!
Dune (and only Herbert's Dune, not the other books written by other people) is wonderful. I love to learn what inspires people's choices for names.
Thumbs up to Frank Herbert. And like Le'o said not to the coat-tail-riders. One of my favorites was "The Santaroga Barrier". Of course we lived in the San Joaquin Valley and worked/called on small farming communities in the foothills when we read it.
I have the Sookie Stackhouse novels in a boxed set, ready to read.
I have reverted back to my childhood and currently reading King of the Wind by Marguerite Henry. No doubt there will be tears shed.
Good luck in "oh Canada". I love showing up there. My Wanda just needs two points to finish her Canadian title.
Someday I want to show Cardis in Canada. I showed up there a few times as a kid, when we lived in Mt Vernon, WA.
Give us the rundown, and please take pics!
I have to say the Outlander series is one of my favorite...although my newest is the Twilight series...completely pleasure, no brainless reading is what I love, especially when I have spent years reading text books!!!
Emily- I read the Twilight series twice in three weeks. It is deffinitely geared to a younger audience, but I couldnt put it down! Then, my husband was interested, so he then read them all. He hasnt read anything for years...
I listened to Diana Gabaldon's entire series on CD two or three times before I read the books. I just didnt have time to read. She is an amazing writer! I cant wait for the next book.
