Ever Had A Week

Have you ever had a week where you just wished you would have stayed in bed? Here are just some tidbits of what happened this week:

*Tried to make dinner yesterday and it just all went horribly wrong. (Under cooked chicken and bad cheese) So wrong we threw it out. Gross.
*Bella ate some of the carpet in the living room. The living room in the house we are trying to sell. Awesome.
*Job situation is deteriorating. And that is all I will say about that! Blah.
*Burned hashbrowns at breakfast.(Not sure how I managed that). Gross.
*I had to get my H1N1 shot. Glad to have it, but not so glad to actually get a shot. Ouch.
*The dogs proceeded to kill all the stuffed animals that were won in Canada (a week ago) and pull all the guts out and left them all over the newly cleaned house. Super.
*The boxes I got to pack with are too square for a lot of the stuff I need to pack. Geez.
*Discovered that the sausage patties and the chicken breasts were freezer burned. Gross.
*We have no milk, butter, katchup, bread, paper, any fruit or veggies, lunch supplies, etc. Need to go to the store, but don't feel like spending the money. Lame.
*Went to go play with Hunter and I bent down as he came up under my jaw and cracked my teeth together. Hit so hard it made my eyes water. He has a big hard head. Ouch.
*A house we wanted doesnt have doors and corners wide enough for our large furniture. Blah.
*I hate doing the dog's nails. And they hate having their nails done. It's a mutual hatred that leaves me upset everytime I do it. And today was the day. Tear.
*Jesse is trying to sell the TVs - and has had several people interested. Today, someone came over and then left without the TV because they didnt understand what 'rear-projection' meant. Lame.
*One of the dogs drank water too fast and puked water/slime all over the floor. Gross.
*The laboratory just got an inspection. We did great and the lab bought the employees sub sandwiches. Which was a very nice idea. However, I am kinda sandwich picky and had to discard a bunch of the yucko veggies. And then I got to the soggy bread... I dont do soggy bread. Gross.
*I have started coughing again. Blah.
*My great-grandmother in Minnesota passed away this morning. WORST.

Now, I know that a lot of these things are pretty trivial and dumb, but it just seemed to all add up. And Grandma passing was not a good way to end the day. I will really really miss her.
Hope everyone else's week was better. I need puppy breath. Anyone care to send some my way?

Busy Life

Busy is probably an understatement.
My grandmother (mom's mom) went into the hospital I work at for a quadruple bypass four days after my brother's wedding. She was released today and all is going well after a very rocky post-sugery experience. What a relief!
Dayl came by with the puppies for the eval since I was playing hostess to my mom's family during grandma's hospital stay. What a NICE distraction puppies are during times of crisis.

Hunter got de-barked. We got a nasty note in the mail from neighbors saying he was barking non-stop. However, the times/days they said it was him he wasnt outside (we have a neighbor dog who sounds a lot like him) but since he was getting targeted as the culprit I just had it done. He does do his fair share of barking, and he is loud. I dont like leaving bark collars on all day when I am not home. Scares me to death. I really dont need a fine from the city. So far it sounds like the de-bark worked.
Jesse has been practicing with a new band for the last month, staying out really late and often, but they had their first gig this past Friday - which was AWESOME. I was so proud of him. He plays rhythm guitar in a band called Sugarbush.

I had an appointment for consultation for my heart issues. Uck. Talk about anxiety. I have an electrical pathway that gets screwed up sometimes and causes extreme tachycardia (fast heartbeats) that ends up putting me in the ER. I am working on getting it fixed.
And then we were in Dayton, WA for All Wheels Weekend which is a car show/demolition derby/cruise weekend. Jesse drove in the demo, my EP cardiologist told me no, I couldn't drive this year. My past demo experience is on a past blog entry.

The puppy evaluation went well. Once I figure out what puppy I will be getting I will post pictures ;) - Deciding between Celestine (blue girl) and Trichrome (black boy) for different reasons...

Summer???

Ok, I know I live in 'the desert' but come on... 80 degrees today?! We were 30s and 40s last week, and now 70s? Dont get me wrong, I am loving it! - but what happened to spring? I guess we are just moving right on thru.

In other news, my dogs are starting to shed, Ellyn is having her first heat cycle and the biggest show of the year starts next week... what luck and awesome timing we have (massive sarcasm). I feel a little guilty sending them with Susan this weekend. Ellyn is going to have Hunter in groaning/moaning/whimpering/whining fits the whole drive. I can just picture it.
But, I am confident that she and Don can handle it. ;)

Topeka here we come! (All hairless and hormonal; that is, the dogs- not me!) Be there Monday!
If I have access to a computer, I will try to post results. Hopefully the club will get them up too.

And a Happy Happy Belated 1oth Birthday to Miss Auri! Gosh, has it been ten years???

Favorite Authors

I have been on a reading frenzy lately. I believe this is due to the snow, the rain, and overall grayness of my world these past few months. Dayl, Pam, Terry and I all enjoy sharing books and new authors with each other. Here are some authors I find simply delightful.

Diana Gabaldon - http://voyagesoftheartemis.blogspot.com/
The Outlander Series, The Lord John series
Jasper Ffjorde - http://www.jasperfforde.com/
The Thursday Next novels
Charlaine Harris - http://www.charlaineharris.com/
The Sookie Stackhouse novels
Sara Donati - http://rosinalippi.com/weblog/
The Into The Wilderness series
Jennifer Roberson http://www.cheysuli.com/author/Index.html
The Historicals

And my most favorite author as a child/teen who helped inspire the kennel name 'Dune'.
Frank Herbert - http://frankherbert.org/

As far as dogs go, Hunter, Ellyn, Phantom and Beatrys will be going to the Canada shows the next two weekends. Dayl and I are so excited to finally be getting back to Canada!
